WHY PARTICIPATE?
Get ready to join your colleagues from all around the world by taking part in an exhilarating run or walk in Honolulu to raise funds for the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation (HCCF). It does not matter whether you are an experienced runner or have no experience at all – everyone is welcome.
The Fun(d) Run & Walk will take place on October 19, 2024 in Honolulu, during the 56th SIOP Congress. Don’t miss it!
All runners can add a donation to the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation (HCCF) when registering for the congress and Fun(d) Run ranging from 10 to 100 USD) . But you can join us without of course as well.
ABOUT HCCF
The Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation was formed in 1991 by a group of parents and medical providers after a statewide needs assessment showed that there were many childhood cancer needs not being met by any existing entity. HCCF is a corporation organized under the laws of the state of Hawaii. HCCF was granted IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit status in 1993. The Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation serves to assist, support, and advocate for the needs of children diagnosed with cancer, their families, and long-term survivors of childhood cancer. The Foundation is dedicated to the children who are battling cancer, to those who have survived, and to those who survive in our hearts.

The time of the run is very early, and it might still be dark and chilly, so please prepare and dress accordingly.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
There are beach showers available the park (but cold water only) and we recommend to return to your accommodation before attending the morning sessions.
Our staff and volunteers will guide you and there will be signage to indicate the start and along the route. We will also post the final route here closer to the congress date.
Any changes to the date and time will be communicated to all congress delegates by email or via the congress app.

All entrants are encouraged to make a donation to the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation (HCCF). But you can also join without donating or having registered during the congress registration process. Just bear in mind that we might not be able to reserve a t-shirt for you in this case.
